Booking, honestly
- The parent books. Accounts belong to parents; children never handle payment or private contact.
- Real calendars, your time zone. Teachers tick the days and time slots they can teach, month by month, in advance (with buffers and a minimum notice); you see live slots in your own local time, clearly labelled, and can switch zones any time.
- One clear price. Every checkout shows the split: the teacher's fee (75%) and STELLA's platform share (25%). Nothing hidden, no .99 pricing anywhere.
- Paid means confirmed. A booking is confirmed only when payment clears, never on a promise to pay, never billed after the fact.
- First lesson, low risk. The trial lesson is a real, paid diagnostic session. It is refunded automatically, no questions asked, if you flag it unsatisfactory within 48 hours.
- One fair cancellation rule. Either side may reschedule or cancel at no charge up to 24 hours before. Inside 24 hours: a parent's cancellation forfeits the fee to the teacher; a teacher's cancellation refunds in full and flags their reliability record. Stated at checkout, not buried in help pages.
- Everything stays on STELLA. Messages, booking, payment: all on the platform. Tutoring sessions with juniors are recorded for safety, and the session starts with an on-camera check-in.
Pilot note (Beta 0.2): this is the booking design the platform is built to. Bookings and payments themselves open after the 11 October pilot; until then every tutor calendar is live and every Book a lesson reads coming.
