| Applies to | euler.swiss and stella.academy |
1. Parties and definitions
1.1 These Terms of Use (the "Terms") are a contract between Schweizer Bildungsglobus AG (Swiss eduGLOBE AG), c/o Benediktiner Kloster Disentis, Via Claustra 1, 7180 Disentis/Mustér, Switzerland, UID CHE-219.746.858 (correspondence: Leimbachstrasse 153, 8041 Zürich) ("we", "us") and you, the parent or legal guardian who opens an account (the "Account Holder").
1.2 You contract in your own name: the contracting party is always you, the adult Account Holder, and the account belongs to you. Where these Terms concern your child, you act as your child's legal representative and in your child's interest. Your child is not a party to these Terms or to any contract with us. Nothing in these Terms creates an obligation on your child or a liability of your child towards us.
1.3 Defined terms:
- "Platform": the websites euler.swiss and stella.academy and the services we provide through them.
- "Account Holder" or "you": the parent or legal guardian who holds the account.
- "Child" or "your child": the child you register under your account. You may register more than one child; these Terms apply to each.
- "Euler ID" or "E-ID": the permanent neutral code we assign to each Child.
- "Faculty Member": an adult who teaches, contributes problems to the problem bank or tutors on the Platform under the Faculty Terms.
- "Leo": the AI tutor, a computer program that gives hints and coaching.
- "Eulos": the points a Child earns on the Platform.
- "Euler Index" or "Ei": the composite measure of a Child's level, accuracy and speed.
- "Codes of Conduct": the Parent Code of Conduct in clause 6 and the Child Code of Conduct in clause 7.
- "Championship": the Euler100 World Junior Mathematics Championship, with its finale on 11–14 October 2027 at the Gymnasium & Internat Kloster Disentis, Graubünden, Switzerland.
- "Privacy Notices": the Privacy Notice for Parents and the Privacy Notice for Children.
1.4 These Terms, the Privacy Notices, the Cookie and Local Storage Statement and, when they are in force, the Paid Plans and Refund Policy and the Championship Rules and Regulations together form the agreement between you and us. Each document is linked from the footer of every page.
2. The Platform
2.1 The Platform has two front doors. euler.swiss carries the Championship: a seven-level journey of mathematics problems, the Euler Index, public leaderboards and, in time, nomination to the finale. stella.academy carries STELLA, the training side: adventures of ten problems, the Euler Faculty of teachers and tutors, parent reports and Leo.
2.2 At launch the Platform is a controlled pilot. Levels 1–3 (Explorer, Adventurer, Alphinest) are open to registered children. Levels 4–7, tutoring bookings, the family plan, Euler Square (a moderated community space) and the paid parent plans are not available at launch. We say "coming" where a feature is not yet open, and we do not charge for anything.
2.3 One account works on both front doors. The same Euler ID, the same Euler Index and the same consents apply on both.
2.4 The levels that are open at launch are included for every registered child. Nothing that affects progress in the Championship will ever sit behind a payment.
3. Eligibility and the age band
3.1 The Platform is designed for children who are 13 or younger on 31 December 2027, that is children born on or after 1 January 2014. You may register a child only if that is true of them.
3.2 We ask for your child's year of birth, never the full date. You confirm that the year you give is true. This confirmation is point 1 of the Parent Code of Conduct and is the single most important thing you tell us.
3.3 If we learn that a year of birth is wrong, we will contact you. If the child is in fact outside the age band, we will close the child's account and remove the child from all boards. A deliberate misstatement is a breach of these Terms and may lead to the account being closed under clause 15. In every case the consequence falls on the account, never on the child as a person, and we will not publish any statement about a child.
3.4 You must be an adult with parental responsibility for the child, or the child's legal guardian appointed by a competent authority. One parent's registration is enough. If you share parental responsibility, you confirm that the other holder does not object. If we learn that the other holder objects, we will suspend the child's account until the matter is settled between you or by a competent authority. [COUNSEL: confirm this reflects Art. 304 para. 2 ZGB and the correct action on notice of a dispute.]
4. Account creation and the invitation code
4.1 During the pilot an account can be opened only with an invitation code issued to your child's school. The code identifies the school, not you or your child.
4.2 To open an account you give a display name of your choice, a verified e-mail address, a password and your country. You then register your child: first name, year of birth, country, school from the registered list, and an alias. The Parental Consent Flow sets out every screen. You give each consent by its own tick; none is pre-ticked.
4.3 Your child's account is created only from your dashboard. You create the child's login name and PIN. A child has no e-mail address on the Platform and cannot change the account's settings.
4.4 We verify your e-mail address by a link. Your child's school confirms that your child is enrolled. The school does not consent on your behalf and does not receive a list of participants from us.
5. The Account Holder's responsibilities
5.1 Supervision. You keep sight of where and how your child engages with the Platform. Your dashboard shows everything your child does. You decide how much time your child spends on the Platform.
5.2 Credentials. You keep your password confidential and you choose a login name and PIN for your child that are not the child's real name or birth year. You tell us at once at privacy@euler.swiss if you believe either set of credentials has been compromised. You are responsible for activity under your account until you tell us.
5.3 One account per child. Each child has one account and one Euler ID. You do not register the same child twice, under your account or anyone else's.
5.4 Truthful information. The information you give about yourself and your child is true and you keep it current. Your display name need not be your legal name.
5.5 Devices. You are responsible for the device and connection your child uses and for any parental controls on it.
5.6 No adult play on a child account. You do not play, and do not let any other adult play, on your child's account.
6. The Parent Code of Conduct
6.1 By ticking each of the seven points below at registration you undertake to us, as a term of this contract, that:
- The information I give about my child, including year of birth, is true; I vouch for it.
- I hold this account, I consent to my child's participation, and I keep sight of where my child engages.
- I will never do my child's work, nor arrange for anyone else to — in assessments my child stands alone.
- Where I attest or supervise anything, the conditions stated are the conditions that held.
- All payments and sponsor arrangements run through the platform; no side agreements.
- I treat teachers, staff and other families with respect.
- I report breaches I become aware of and cooperate with any review.
6.2 These seven points are contractual undertakings by you. A breach of any of them is a breach of these Terms and clause 15 applies. Point 5 applies when payments and sponsor arrangements exist; until then it records a rule you accept in advance.
7. The Child Code of Conduct
7.1 Before your child first plays, your child reads and ticks each of the seven points below, with you present:
- The work I present as mine is mine.
- I use AI and my calculator openly, to learn and to train — never to pretend. In any test, the thinking is mine alone.
- I am one person with one account, and my details are true.
- I treat every junior, teacher and helper with respect, in Euler Square and everywhere.
- I keep test questions secret and never help anyone cheat.
- If something feels wrong, I tell my parent or the platform.
- I understand that honesty is what keeps my place at Euler.
7.2 Legal effect. The Child Code of Conduct is a statement of the behaviour we expect and your child agrees to. It is not a contract. A child under 13 cannot bind themselves to us and we do not ask them to. The Child Code creates no obligation and no liability of your child towards us.
7.3 Where the consequences sit. You, the Account Holder, accept that the Platform is run on these rules and that a breach of them on your child's account is dealt with under clause 8 and clause 15. Any consequence of a breach falls on the account: a problem may be rescored, a result may be set aside, an account may be suspended or closed. No consequence is ever imposed on your child as a party, and we never publish a statement about a child.
7.4 We record which points were ticked, under which version of the Code and when, so that the record can be shown to you.
8. Conduct and integrity
8.1 Honest work. Work presented as a child's own must be the child's own. In any scored set or test, the thinking must be the child's alone.
8.2 AI and calculators. Your child may use a calculator and AI tools, including Leo, openly to learn and to train. In any test the use of an AI tool or any other person to produce an answer is cheating.
8.3 Test secrecy. Problems in any test, and in the sealed Championship examination pool, are confidential. Copying, photographing, sharing or publishing them is prohibited.
8.4 No interference. You and your child do not attempt to access another account, to manipulate the Euler Index, Eulos or any board, to scrape the Platform, or to interfere with its operation.
8.5 Respect. You and your child treat Faculty Members, our staff and other families with respect, on the Platform and in any communication with us.
8.6 Review. If we have reason to believe a rule in this clause or in the Codes of Conduct has been broken, we tell you by e-mail and describe the concern. We may suspend scoring or board display for the account while we review. A person, not a computer, decides. You may answer within 14 days before a decision is taken, except where immediate action is needed to protect other children or the integrity of a test.
8.7 Decisions. The decision may be: no action; a problem or set rescored or set aside; the account suspended for a stated period; or the account closed under clause 15. We give you the decision and its reasons in writing.
8.8 Appeal. You may appeal within 30 days to a named person who took no part in the first decision. At Levels 1–3 the appeal is to a director of the company; from Level 4 it is to the Panel referred to in the Championship Rules and Regulations. The appeal decision is final as far as our internal process goes. Nothing in this clause limits your right to take a dispute to a court under clause 22.
8.9 The default is "not confirmed", not an accusation. Where a result cannot be verified we record it as not confirmed. We make no finding against a child. Findings of cheating are reserved for cases with direct evidence and are addressed to the Account Holder.
9. Public leaderboards and the alias
9.1 Public leaderboards on euler.swiss show each child as Euler ID, alias (only with your separate consent, hidden by default) and country, with a rank. The school is never shown next to a child. There are no child profile pages.
9.2 Publishing the Euler ID, rank and country is named in the consent you give at registration. You may withhold your child from all public boards from your dashboard; your child continues to play and sees their own Euler Index. [COUNSEL: confirm the withhold control is to be exposed to parents, per the memo.]
9.3 The alias appears on boards only after you switch on the alias toggle and confirm by the link sent to your verified e-mail. You may withdraw at any time by the same control. Withdrawal removes the alias from the board and its history at once. The alias must not be the child's real name or identify the child, and must not be offensive; we may refuse or remove an alias that breaks this rule and ask you to choose another.
9.4 The Privacy Notice for Parents describes the boards in full.
10. Eulos and the Euler Index
10.1 Eulos are points. They have no cash value, cannot be bought, sold, transferred or redeemed for money or goods, and are not property. We may adjust or reset Eulos where a rule has been broken, where an error is corrected, or where the points system changes, and we will tell you if we do.
10.2 The Euler Index is a measure of maths work on the Platform. We may recalculate it when problems are recalibrated, when a result is set aside, or when the formula changes. Levels, Eulos and the Euler Index confer no right to any seat, prize or place in the Championship. Those are governed by the Championship Rules and Regulations.
11. Leo, the AI tutor
11.1 Leo is a computer program, not a person. The label "A computer program, not a person. Named for Leonhard Euler." is shown wherever Leo appears. Leo appears only after your child asks for a hint and, when the family plan exists, when coaching a missed problem.
11.2 Leo's hints and coaching are generated by an AI model and may be incomplete or wrong. We do not warrant that any hint is correct. A worked solution written by a person is available for every missed problem, you see every attempt, and a person is always available through privacy@euler.swiss or, when tutoring opens, a Faculty Member.
11.3 No identifier of your child is ever sent to the model. The Privacy Notice for Parents describes exactly what is sent.
12. Content and intellectual property
12.1 Our content. The Platform, its design, software, text, images, the brand names Euler100, STELLA, Leo and Eulos, the level names and the problem bank are ours or our licensors' and are protected by copyright, trade mark and other laws. We grant you and your child a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Platform for your child's learning and participation under these Terms. No other right is granted.
12.2 Your child's work. Your child's answers, workings and solutions remain your family's. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display to you, review and use them to operate the Platform, to run the Championship, to review problems and to produce anonymised statistics. The licence ends when the account is deleted, except for anonymised statistics, which contain nothing that identifies your child, and for Championship records kept under the Privacy Notice.
12.3 Faculty problems. Problems are contributed by Faculty Members under the Faculty Terms, which give us a licence and give the author permanent attribution, or are generated and reviewed as described in the Privacy Notice for Parents. You and your child may use them on the Platform only.
12.4 No copying. You and your child do not copy, scrape, download in bulk, publish or redistribute problems or any other Platform content, and do not use automated tools on the Platform. Problems from tests and from the sealed Championship pool are confidential (clause 8.3).
13. The Championship
13.1 The Championship is governed by its own Rules and Regulations, to be published before nominations open. Until they are published, nothing on the Platform gives a right to nomination, to a seat at the finale or to any award. [PLACEHOLDER: date by which the Rules and Regulations will be published.]
13.2 Age proof by sighting. Where a child is nominated, a named adult sights an official document showing the child's date of birth and records only the verdict. No document, scan or image is ever uploaded to or stored on the Platform.
13.3 Travel to the finale, the accompanying adult and proof of the adult's relationship to the child are governed by the Rules and Regulations and by separate documents issued at nomination. They are not part of these Terms.
13.4 Sponsors. Where sponsors or patrons support the Championship, their arrangements are with us. Your child is never a party to any sponsor arrangement, and no sponsor receives any data about your child or any contact with your child except in public and supervised settings described in the Rules and Regulations. Point 5 of the Parent Code of Conduct applies.
14. Paid plans (not available at launch)
14.1 No paid plan exists at launch and we take no payment of any kind. Any page about a future plan says "coming" and allows you, if you wish, to leave your e-mail address to be told when it opens.
14.2 When paid plans open, the Paid Plans and Refund Policy will apply, and we will tell you by e-mail before the first plan is offered. Prices will be shown in Swiss francs including VAT, with other currencies alongside for information. Paying is a tier-3 verification event for your account.
14.3 Rules that will always hold. Your child's account never shows a price, a card form or a purchase button. Nothing that affects progress in the Championship is ever behind a payment. The record of your child's work is always available to you without charge; paid plans may offer delivery and interpretation, never access. Eulos are never sold.
15. Suspension and termination
15.1 By you. You may close your child's account, or your own, at any time from your dashboard. Closing deletes the child's identity data within 30 days as described in the Privacy Notice for Parents. Activity data is kept only in pseudonymised form, and Championship results, where there are any, are kept as the Championship's archive.
15.2 By us for breach. We may suspend or close an account if you breach these Terms, including the Parent Code of Conduct, or if a rule in clause 8 is broken on your child's account. Except where immediate action is needed to protect children or the integrity of a test, we give you notice by e-mail with reasons, allow you 14 days to respond, and follow clause 8.6–8.8. We do not close an account for a first, minor or inadvertent breach that you remedy when asked.
15.3 By us for other reasons. We may close an account that has been unverified for 30 days, or inactive for the period stated in the Privacy Notice, after a reminder to you. We may also close accounts if we stop providing the Platform, on at least 60 days' notice, in which case you may export your child's record before closure.
15.4 Effect. On closure the licence in clause 12.1 ends. Your child is removed from all current boards. Past Championship results remain in the archive under the Euler ID, with the identity link severed. Clauses 12.2 (as stated), 17, 18, 22 and 23 survive closure.
15.5 The child's record is never punished for an adult's conduct. If an account is closed because of your conduct rather than your child's, we will on request transfer your child's Euler ID and record to another holder of parental responsibility who opens an account and gives the consents. [COUNSEL: confirm feasibility and conditions.]
16. Availability, changes to the Platform, beta status
16.1 The Platform is new. It is described as a beta and will change. We may add, change or withdraw features, levels, problem sets, scoring rules and board formats. Where a change removes something your child relied on, we tell you in advance where we reasonably can.
16.2 We aim to keep the Platform available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may suspend the Platform for maintenance, security or reasons outside our control.
16.3 Problems may contain errors. You can tell us from the adventure report with one tap. Two reports suspend a problem from scored sets until a person has looked at it. We may rescore sets affected by an erroneous problem.
17. Liability
17.1 We are liable without limit for damage we cause intentionally or by gross negligence, and for personal injury or death caused by our fault. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits that liability.
17.2 For slight negligence, our liability is limited to the direct, foreseeable damage typical of a contract of this kind, and is capped at [PLACEHOLDER: cap, for example the greater of a stated CHF amount and the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the event]. While the Platform is provided without charge, the cap is [PLACEHOLDER: CHF amount]. [COUNSEL: set the cap and the exclusions that survive Art. 100–101 CO and Art. 8 UWG in consumer terms of this kind.]
17.3 We exclude liability for the slight negligence of our auxiliary persons (employees, contractors and sub-processors) to the extent Art. 101 CO permits. [COUNSEL: confirm this exclusion is appropriate here.]
17.4 We are not liable for the correctness of any hint or coaching from Leo or for the content of any external website.
17.5 Nothing in these Terms limits any right you have under mandatory law in the country where you live. [COUNSEL: Art. 8 UWG fairness review of clauses 17, 20 and 22 as a set, and the consumer-protection carve-out for parents resident outside Switzerland.]
18. Indemnity
18.1 You compensate us for loss we suffer as a direct result of your own breach of clause 5 or clause 6 (for example a deliberately false year of birth, or a sponsor arrangement made outside the Platform in breach of point 5), to the extent the loss is caused by your fault. This clause does not apply to anything your child does, and your child owes us nothing. [COUNSEL: confirm that a narrow indemnity of this kind is acceptable in Swiss consumer terms, or delete.]
19. Data protection
19.1 How we process your data and your child's data is set out in the Privacy Notice for Parents, the Privacy Notice for Children, the Cookie and Local Storage Statement and the Sub-processor List and Records of Processing. They form part of this agreement. In the event of conflict between these Terms and a Privacy Notice on a question of data protection, the Privacy Notice prevails.
20. Changes to these Terms
20.1 We may change these Terms. We tell you by e-mail at least 30 days before a change takes effect, with a plain summary of what changed and why. We never change these Terms silently.
20.2 If you do not accept a change you may close the account before the change takes effect, and clause 15.1 applies. If you continue to use the Platform after the date stated, the new Terms apply. Previous versions are kept and available on request.
20.3 A change that reduces a protection for your child's data is also a change to the Privacy Notice and is handled under it.
21. Communications
21.1 We communicate with you by e-mail to your verified address and through your dashboard. You are responsible for keeping your e-mail address current. We never communicate with your child by e-mail or outside the Platform.
21.2 You may write to us at privacy@euler.swiss or at the postal address above.
22. Governing law and forum
22.1 These Terms are governed by Swiss law, to the exclusion of its conflict-of-laws rules and of the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods.
22.2 The courts of Zürich, Switzerland, have exclusive jurisdiction over claims we bring. If you are a consumer, you may also bring a claim in the court of your own domicile where mandatory rules of jurisdiction give you that right, including Art. 32 of the Swiss Civil Procedure Code and Art. 15–17 of the Lugano Convention. [COUNSEL: confirm the wording of the forum clause against the CPC consumer forum rules and the Lugano Convention, and whether a Zürich forum is the right choice given a South African pilot cohort.]
23. General
23.1 Assignment. We may assign this agreement to a successor that takes over the Platform and that undertakes to honour these Terms and the Privacy Notices. We tell you in advance. You may not assign your account.
23.2 Severability. If any clause is invalid, the rest remain in force and the invalid clause is replaced by a valid one that comes closest to its purpose.
23.3 No waiver. A failure to enforce a clause is not a waiver.
23.4 Entire agreement. The documents in clause 1.4 are the whole agreement between you and us about the Platform.
24. Language versions
24.1 These Terms are written in English. German, French and Italian versions will be published once counsel has cleared them. Until then English governs. Where a translation differs from the English, the English applies, except where the law of your country of residence requires otherwise. [COUNSEL: confirm whether German should be the authentic version for parents resident in Switzerland once cleared.]
